Freeskier's ratings are so poorly done that you should not use that as evidence. A true ski test would be to cover the topsheets so that any bias's could be eliminated. They would also have a more rounded test crew evauluate skis. Use it as a starting point but not fact!
prolly most of the testers for the skis were 20-30 year old powder hounds, they prolly dont ski park very much and dont have young park rat testers to give an opinion, the only way still to this very day to KNOW if a ski is right for you is to.... oh dare i say it.....omg...OMG..... I THINK I MIGHT SAY IT........ DEMO IT!!!
skis are differnt for everybody depending on how you ski, yor weight and hight and what you ski etc..
ahha nice boldage, I think the PEs are my fav just cuz I found last years rather weak so it's good they made a bit of a comeback, by that I mean wayy better graphics in my opinion and no more of that silly ptex. the other day I talked to this guy in a shop about the PEs and he had last years and he was tryin to sell me on some of last years and I was like yeah no way man that ptex is shit and he was like "huh? i dunno mine hold up pretty good" hahahah he didn't even know they were made of ptex. that's my story for the day
i liked the boldness too, and ass for a blank top sheet for the testing, im going to have to agree and dissagree with you. one yes all the skis should be judged in an un biasest fasion, but even if you put a white top sheet on a ski, they can still be picked out. for example i could pick out head mojo from a list of skis just by there shape, and i've never even owned a pair.
yeah they gave the silencers a bad rating cause they were not good in powder and stuff, but who the fuck would buy silencers for pow? i wonder if they even took them in the park.
ive got silencers and out of the many park skis ive tried, the silencers are the best, the stl's are probably the only ski that can match them.
chris turpin said they are the best park skis he has ever ridden, and id rather trust chris turpin than some 40 year old who cant do a 180
Don't believe evereything you read. I laughed when one review of the PE said something to the effect of, "Testers were stoked last year on how the PE handles the whole mountain-from park to pipe to crud to powder. But this year, judging from the divided comments, the PE came up short."
Well, that is pretty funny, the ski is the same dimensions and construction as the year before....so, why the difference this time around? Hahahaha.
Another great one was talking about how testers were divided on graphics on the AK....now was it an art show or a ski performance test? Hahahahahahahaha.
Even better yet, "Seth's pro model will probably just sell because it is Seth's pro model."
That or because it skis everything well. And yes, Seth skis the exact same Seth's you can get at your local shop.
Again, take what you read with a certain grain of salt. Ideally, you really have to get out and try your friends' skis or demo different companies' offerings from your ski shop and see what works best for you.
i agree with the hight/weight stuff but the magazine actually took all the skis to the summer camp at hood to test them for pure park. and, not all of us have the option to demo any ski we want.
