At least one the older ones heres what you do:
Load the cd that came with it into iTunes and then onto your ipod. Once you've done that, create a playlist for the iTrip on your ipod (for convenience).
Next disconect your iPod from your computer and pop on the iTrip.
Go into that playlist you created for the iTrip, and pick a frequency like you would pick a song. When it starts to play...let it get about halfway...pause it.
Then use the menu button to back up and pick a song to play.
Your iTrip should be playing on the frequency you selected so set up your tuner accordingly and enjoy!

there are no buttons on the itrip...ya, the radio + ipod are on...the itrip just has a small grey scrolling button thing on the side that i assume is for flipping stations once it works...the problem is, the itrip wont turn on, the screen stays blank

Then there's a good chance it has no batteries/they are dead.

that's probably the problem them. i don't personally like itrips unless you invest the money in buying a really good one. i bought one for around 30ish and it just sucks doesn't stay for a while and the frequency is sketchy. but the good ones work very well def worth the money.
