SONY HIGH def. Mini DV handycam camcorder HDR-HC3

has anyone ever used the HDR-HC3 handycam camcorder by sony that just came out this year? and if so...what are your thoughts about it??

my friend has it, he says it's not so hot in porr light but it's amazing in good light

The next step up.. A HDR-FX1 from Sony can be had for about 2700-3000 (serious investment) but it KILLS it in low light. Full rails can be shot at acceptable levels with only headlights or hand lights.

i've got one and i love it. it kills the quality of my last camera.---

i think ata films with that camera. so beyond the bunny hill should be with that camera.

yes it is true HD, shoots true HD, yhe misconception comes into play when the final product must be converted from HD because HD DVD players are not widely owned

I have an HDR HC1 and its super sick. the only problem is the zoom rocker is a little too sensitive. its only a one chip but its a CMOS chip used in alot of still cameras adapted to film with new technology. so then all these kids who have no idea about this new camera or read one bench test talked shit about it on here when i said i was getting it and how the low light was going to be poop WELL, why dont you take a look at this video http://februebruary.com/vid/memorial06.mov and tell me how the low light cabin timelapses look now....even if the HD technology isnt there yet, i shoot it in DV mode for just a generally sick standard camera.

Vx21 / HDR-FX1 : Same zeiss lens, essentially same sensor.. Same in low light. Who cares which one you have?
(beside the fact the FX1 is double the vert resolution)

HD is definitely partially a marketing scheme... The confusion REALLY comes when people think that the HD referred to for vid cameras is the HD referred to in respect to TVs.

I'm taking the time to post this so the individual who started this post can save himself some time. I did tons of research before I bought my FX1.

Ultimately, buy a Panasonic.. The DVX-100/a. After a full season running the FX-1 and seeing first hand what a DVX can do I'm sold on Panasonic. "Native" widescreen is hard to let go of though..

Id say, if your gonna go hardcore on a camera, go and get something top end.
don't mess around with the consumer products, go and get a canon gl2 or something.

if you want a camera to take with you skiing thats ultra portable i would personally stick with a good quality mini dv camcorder and not worry about the HD

im either buying it with many oither lenses and a custom cam holder or im buying a 3ccd panasonic for like 1096 bucks canadian
