let the kids know the truth. mods, stop pulling threads that discuss what is REALLY going on with Siver and Orage's bullshit. you can't hide it forever guys. it is pretty common knowledge and people have heard about it for over 4 months...let us discuss Orage's bullshit maneuver...
orage has owned siver for a couple years now, but orage now wants to sell siver off, because their sales are better than their own. or something like that. thats what i've heard through the grapevine, but we all know the grapevine is shit.
The parent company that owns Siver and Orage wanted to sell off Siver. My local shop told me all about it. Siver is done and they r not making like half the stuff. They said that Mike Nick is working another job now and that this is the last season for Siver. At least thats what i heard from the shop and there pretty tight with Mike and Siver
yeh i guess they didnt make as much $ as we all think. my shop here in boston told me everything. and all of the team kids have known for a while that siver is pretty much done. there all trying to get new clothes sponsors. wonder why there want any threads about it before.
most of you guys dont really know what happened or what is going to happen at all..so instead of startng rumors why dont you wait to have mike or someone at coalition make an official statement. Those who actually DO know whats going on can appreciate why you shouldnt be blabbing about it on newschoolers
Yeah, Witt's right. Most of you don't really know the whole deal, and although rumors can be expected in a situation like this, you can't take it all as fact. Don't believe everything you hear. I've been working for Siver for the past two years, so I know the story, but it's up to Mike and the rest at Coalision to officially make a statement about it all.
yeah, well i do. and i dont need coalition to come out and give us a PR piece about how they tried to save a company and help them out, when in actuality all that they did was buy a company they saw as a threat and within 2 years dissolve them because they "were too competitive" with their own brand (Orage). The move is lame and it sends an awful message to core ski companies. Siver was a unique success story for our industry and this is bullshit. i wouldn't be suprised if even had Mike sign a non-compete contract so he wouldn't go start another company when they bought Siver. this has been going on for at least 5 months, when do they plan on talking about it?
