I have to write a essay this week for pols, entititled: 'Is the Bush administration winning the 'war on terror'?"... by the looks of things i'm definetly not taking any references from this site. haha.
Anyway i can't understand how that mi(scra)tch dude whatever doesn't figure out that bush aswell as others over the last 6 decades has been entirely responsible for 9/11. He did not handle it well, he handled it how i would have expected, taking revenge. He didn't think about it. What was the justification for invading Iraq? WMD's and a connection between Saddam and Al-Qaeda, which most analysts clearly say is not only fraud but rediculous as they both pretty much hated each other. If one was to handle the atrocities of 9/11 "well" then there wouldn't have been wide scale retalitation against a country that the CIA once funded. The Northern Alliance which was built, backed and powered by the US in Afganistan that replaced the Taliban are, according to some people (locals and orginations such as Revolutionary Afgan Womens Association, who still have to hide in secret schools to teach girls) just as bad or worse than the Taliban. therefore that front of the war on terror pretty much failed.
Over atleast the past 5 presidencies there has been a policy of domination and Us comes first no matter what. This has been seen in Vietnam, Panama, Granada, Laos, Cuba, middle East, parts of Africa, Chile, Phillipines etc the list goes on. Some of these interventions are not directly carried out by the government but in reality the decisions of orginisations such as the World Bank and the IMF are controlled by the US as they can veto any decision made within these groups, because they hold over 15 or 20% (not sure the actual mark) of the vote, due to monetary power.
And of course the IMF etc always fall into line and adopt the fucked up neo-liberal polices, first under Margaret Thatcher and Ronald Reagan. These included Structural Adjustment Programmes or SAPS which meant if a certain developing country wanted a loan from these orginisations it would have to adopt these neo-liberal programes of trickle down and privatisation of public goods as well as have to handle the large interest rates applied to the loan, perfect example of this is Mozambique, or the Philippines where the country was treated as a testing ground for the SAPs.
These systems do not work, it ends up in the usual tract of rich getting richer and poor poorer, look at Haiti, there's a rich minority of 150 families and the rest live on less than $2 a day.
Anyway I digress, but can you not see why people or groups such as Al-Qaeda, would want to destroy the centre of worldwide concentrated wealth and military force, these wars and conflicts and conservative social policies are a direct effect. and Bush just made the whole thing worse after handle 9/11 "well" as you say. A new generation of hate and angst has just been born. Expect more frequent and larger, virocious attacks my friend. Or keep beleiving you "president" is handling the situation well. Just another fuck ass to me.
