everyone there is a nice hurricane swell moving up the coast this week its producing a nice 7-9 ft swell and in the heart waves are supposed to get up to 15ft. For all Long Islanders our best days should be this labor day weekend and most likely saturday. It is said to be 7-9 feet and north winds at 10-15 mph. Its gunna be a fun one, nice opener for the season so grab your boards and see you out there
ehh idk i just checked the wave and wind reports when i saw your comment and its stil looking big for LI this weekend, i think it dides off a little but its still gunna be over head most of the weekend, what ever if its blown out its windsurfing time
it's kinda weird how pretty much the best swells of the summer have come on holiday weekends. back in may over memorial day weekend i think, it was like chest to some head high sets and really clean. of course that was pretty much the first beach day for all "non-hardcore" surfers and bodyboarders so there were more than the usual 5 people in the lineup. now it seems this weekend should be aright and it's pretty much the last beach day for all the "non-hardcore" beach goers. althogh im looking foward to great waves and no crowds this winter, im def not looking foward to the 5/3
eh this wasnt to hot, wave report said yesterday, saturday was 13ft, but i dont think the 60mph gust helped at all, today was aweful, sketchy peaks and only 4-5ft, tomarow looks like clean up conditions 4-5 ft range too
ahh monday was amazing, every wave was a perfect left and you could pull right in for a fun little tube ride, by far my best day of surfing in a while, first legit waves i have seen on LI this early in the year
last sat, sun, at cape cod we got choppy12-15 footers....ive never seen anything like it for the cape.....some unreal rides
however monday was friggen unbelieveable 8-10 footers but clean as hell...pulled into a small tube then proceeded to get worked...the entire weekend was ridic
