Ahhh the life of a college student. I finished my last day of work yesterday (yeah a saturday) and i'm so happy to be done and will soon be moving back into school for the start of my fall semester. During the summertime I work for a company out of Shrewsbury, VT installing, refinishing, etc gym floors. I also do all of the game-lining jobs. Here's the only picture i have of my work. It's from Norwich University:
Anyways yesterday i was over at a school and spent about 12 hours on my hands and knees scraping up puddles of finish because the crew that coated the floor screwed it up. Normally I wouldn't have minded so much, but because i had to clean up and then fix someone else's mess, it really pissed me off, and was probably my least favorite day of work i can recall. I tend to pass the time by thinking about skiing, but as I was hating my job, and feeling sorry for myself I remembered the post on here about the guy who skied 1000 days in a row and is still going. Just made me wonder again how the hell he can afford to ski every day and never work; cuz here I am busting my ass 60hours a week doing hard manual labor just so I can scrape up enough money for maybe a new jacket or pair of pants, and a ski pass to Wachusett (thankfully I have get a employee dependent pass for Killy). So I began to hate this guy who skis every day, so I cursed his name and then asked God to make him fall and break a leg. Might have been a little harsh, but the image of him sitting in a hospital bed and seeing his pefect streak of consecutive days skied break put a huge smile on my face and helped me get through the day.
Can't wait for school to start, and then for the flakes to fly. Carry on...
