Replying to Opinions on the Encore for protection

I am considering getting the giro encore this year, downscaling from a full face or nine mx. Usually, things are cheap because they are cheaply made: is this the case with the Encore? If it costs almost half the price of the nine.9/G10, does it provide half the protection. I have had a few concussions with nice helmets, I am wondering if this helmet has what I need. Please don't respond with "yeah, I had it last year it was sick" or "dude, helmets only help so much, get what you like" yadda crap. I want people who have used it and compared it to higher end helmets. Thanks.
