SERIOUS KNEE PROBLEM? NEED ANSWERS!!!

ok-basically i got hit in a football game (not on my knee-my chest) and my foot planted into the ground but my knee went with my body. my left knee twisted inwards and i felt it pop-almost like it feels when youre double jointed(but im not!)and when it popped, it shot like under my knee cap or something.
i played on it the rest of the game, but i couldnt straighten it out at all...its been 1 whole day and i cant put any pressure on it at all, bend it up or down, and its frozen in like a half cocked position.
does anybody know if im gonna be out for a while, or even all season, and worst ski season? and help would be greatly appreciated.

stop walking on it. Go see a doctor. Pops aren't good.

if you heard/felt the pop then you most likely tore something. go see a doctor and if they cant find anything go get an MRI to be sure.
the fact that you played on it after you felt the pop probably means its not a very serious tear, but if its even a partial acl tear you're going to want to get that fixed via surgery (it wont heal itself).
get ready for a fun 6-8 months

well when i tore my rotator cuff and lebrom i just kinda popped it back in and went on it for about another 2 months and then i had surgury and if youre worried about your ski season the best thing to do would see a doctor right away.

If it's the back, and you heard a pop it's your ACL. Sorry for the news....

couple of years ago i did mine playing netball, then i ran an 800 at school, and yeh... crippled the other one. went to a physio, and i have a torn ACL, floating cartilage and functional misalignment.
go to a physio, i got a heap of exercises to do, and ways to tape them so they dont hurt as much. still does hurt, but doesnt stop me skiing.

if you cant straighten it, thats bad. Locked knee acl tears are nasty shit.

If you really did go back in and play on it, you will probably be fine. When you tear your acl/mcl there is NO way you are going to be able to play on it. I only pulled my mcl and there is no way anyone could possibly play with a pulled mcl. I couldn't even put my foot down.

it differs for everyone, it all depends on the structure of your knee
i tore my acl february 25, got it checked 2 days later, and found out it was an acl tear a week later, then had surgery march 17. and a week after the initial tear i could walk normally, run, and stuff.. i just didnt have full range of motion, but my knee wasnt loose or anything after about a week.. i had the fluid drained out and that helped a lot.. it differs for everyone

my pop=ACL :/ sucks, better check it out one way you can check if it's your ACL is turn your foot inward and put pressure on it, if you can't and feel like you will fall over it's most likely torn.
