The Garmont adrenalin is one of the best park and freeride boots that have ever been made.
The boot is a happy medium. Alpine boots have too much weight and can be too stiff for big landings. Where the garmont adrenaline excels, is it's light weight, which equals low swing weight overhead or under foot, in addition to a more progressive flex that creates a more forgiving feel when landing the big one or even banging bumps. I have skied the boot in all conditions, in bounds and out. The boots have a sensitive torsional response, and are incrediblly quick. I can't think of anywhere I would not take this boot. Another huge pro for all you park riders is it's ability to walk. The boot is a hybrid ski boot because of it's walk mode, Walking is not just for ski touring. In the park you hike that rail, jump, or pipe as much as most alpine touring folk walk. You will quickly and greatly appreciate the walk mode if spending the whole day hiking the booter or pipe. Another huge perk is the ability to switch soles. The boot comes with the vibram AT sole, and a interchangable din compatible sole which allows you to switch from AT bindings to your regular alpine set up. Two boots for the price of one.
One more strong testament to these boots was Doug Coombs. He skied this boot exclusively in La Grave and most of Europe, Someone mentioned in this thread that the boots are not that good for inbounds. If they were good enough for Doug then they are good enough for you. Granted Doug was one of the best most graceful skiers that ever lived, He was a big guy. He is proof that this boot could be skied anywhere and everywhere.
Finally, if you really need the extra meat, Garmont has a new release for this year called the Endorphin, It is a bit beefier and stiffer than the Adrenalin, and drives the fattest of skiis with precision and feel that is parallel to Alpine boots. If you try on an adrenalin and feel like you want just a bit more, check the endorphin. The boots are so light compared to an alpine boot, but stand up to the challenge just the same. Super fast and responsive, You will be dancing around on the rails faster than a gerbil on crack. Not to mention how fast your feet will be in the zipper line as well. Give them a go, Once you try you will never go back.
