k, im making this thread for everyone who thinks step ons are gay.... FUCK YOU !!! step on or not, it doesnt matter, so wat u start on the rail, who cares, isnt it the tricks and style on the rail that counts, sure if i had the choice id choose snow over a step on, but if u dont got snow step ons work, AND THEYRE NOT GAY

my bad for the hating, just i hate it when people put up sweet pictures or videos of rails, but theyre step ons and everyones like thats gay

they are gay because the purpose of an urban rail is to have a little tiny jump on making you have to ollie, HIGH. not just step off a platform, its about skiing up and skiing out and actually using the flex pattern on your skis to ollie

so skiing has rules now? and if you dont follow them its gay? It is alot harder to step onto a rail then to get on with a jump, it takes alot more ballance to step on then get on with a jump. and there is hardley anyone who actully ollies up to shit, its mostly all jumping.

I disagree. I thought the essence of urban rails was to bring the sport off the mountain and play around with something differnt and having fun. And since when did the purpose of urban jibbing become the challenge of hopping onto rails? Just because snowboarders can do urbans with absolutly no lip dosen't neccesarily mean that skiers should do it that way too. Maybe I'm stretching your definition here, but by how i interpret what you're saying the pictures below are not considered urban because they have a big lip -- and in which case i disagree again.

And in regards to step ons, I like them because step ons show a real passion for skiing. I mean when someone is so desperate to ski that he is willing to just climb on a barrel and step onto a rail, it shows a lot of love for the sport. Besides there fun.

Fuck your so called "rules" to be cool. Skiing isn't being progressed every single day by any and every athelete that loves it so it can make "rules" that say,  "To properly do an urban rail, you must have a lip that is 50 % of the height of the rail, with no step ons whatsoever." No, it's being progressed every single day to do whatever the fuck a skier wants, for the fun and hell of it. So fuck your rules and bullshit like that. Sorry, its my rant of the day.

ahahhahahahaha are you kidding me? thats so different there not even comparable. what i can tell you is this:

bmx, skate, and rollerblades are all a SUMMER sport. so from the get go there is to be NO snow. so yes.. it would be gay (in my opinion). but to compare a step on bmx/skate/blade would be equalivalent to a step on when skiing in january. if you saw someone in your park stepping onto a jib.. sure.. that could be called gay.. what ever you want.


so if your going to compare step ons to step ons, at least do it properly.


as a rider in that video.. all i have to say is.. hate on what ever you want guys. if hating on skiing floats your boat then so be it. While you have fun hating on skiing.. im having fun actually skiing. so who gets the last laugh?  As i mentioned.. what ever floats your boat.. personally.. yes i would rather a drop in and snow to hit it. Unfortunatly we dont have a drop in and we had a limited about of snow we could get.. and we tried everything in our power for it to work. So.. on a final thought.. this is to everyone (whether you think step ons are gay, cool, want to try it), do you own thing. no one is stopping you.. and personally i think it is wrong to try to convice people your way is right.. just do you own thing.. and what ever.

no one was bashing your fun...I was mearly pointing out that stepping on to a rail is not that cool regardless of how you try to jusitfy
