My iPod is trippin' HELP

I don't know how it happened, but the bottom of my screen is like 4 dots all in line, instead of the counter that tells you volume and song count. It is a 4th gen. 20G photo, color, clickwheel and this really sucks because it's been a great pod w/ no other problems. I have lots of audio books and podcasts, so I kinda like to know how far along I am. Any help? Thanks bruvas.

I have a 30 gig video and I can chieve the 4 dots affect among other ones by pressing the middle of ok button whatever you want to call it, its just a different meter like the volume and such. If you hit the center button it shoud change and hopefully go back to normal, if not idk

Jesus Christ. Clicking the center wheel toggles the ipod screen between song time and time remain, to the little "Skip through Song" diamond, to the Album Art (if you have any), and the star rating system, which is the four dots. Just press center again. If not, hold down the menu and center buttons to restart.
