I'm going off to college next week and I need to move my iTunes library from our PC to my Apple laptop. Has anyone done this before or know where I can find out how? I couldnt really find much on Apple's website but I might not have been looking in the right places. Thanks.
wait acctually i see the problem... Itunes doesnt let u move the songs u have bought right right, sorry.
If u can get both computers on the same network...(via internet connection) u can use the program called "ourTunes" u can find it on google....than u run that program and u can see all every computer's Itunes Library and take thier songs.... (once u are in college with a ton of people on your network u can see where this would be pretty dope)
go to your itunes library, burn the library folder to a disk.......then in your itunes go file>export library, this saves an xml file....when you start your new computer drag the burnt itunes library off the cd and into itunes, and then go file> import and import the .xml library file, or maybe go file> add songs to library i am not too sure, just make sure all the files are back up somehwere and mess around. i have done it a bunch and had all the songs with ratings play count and everything transfere over.
plug in ipod, open it under my computer, go show hidden files, open "music" and import all files, they are named "bdys" or "wyah" or any othe 4 letter combination. enjoy.
