Dirt Jumps

I you're building dirt jumps to cover with snow in the winter, does it work as well as just plain snow jumps? Also do wood ramps covered in snow work well?

dirt jumps could work ok, only to get the base of the jump though, otherwise you cant shape the jump as well, and im not sure about the wood base, ive never tried it, but i imagine that it could work

If i were you, just make it a pile of dirt, then shape the jump with snow.

if u make a base, you cant really just dust it with snow. bases (such as hay bails) are just used to fill space, and make up for snow u dont have. i had a wooden quarter pipe for a drop in, and it ended up under 4-5 feet of snow. bases just save time, it wont hold the shape of a jump.

yeah i wouldn't make it like one big mound that's shaped like a wall tho, cause then u need more snow to put on it to make it nice, just make it into the relative shape of the jump and cover it with a good amount of snow

I have a skateboard ramp that a just put a tarp ove and covered up with snow. It worked preety well, we had to put on some water so it would be like hard. We also made a snow ramp, they are both about the same, the snow rame is good, but living in Ohio, the wooden ramp took less snow.
