Ha, so at camp me and my friends tried to make this by just using peices of would, that we sand and cut down and they worked very badly firstly because they were completly flat so it wasnt really a twin tip but it we could ride switch but it was kinda gay. we tried 1's and 3's but that didnt turn out so well. Any experience with this? ahah because this is such a common field. There was a thread probably a couple weeks ago with actually twintip water skis but do you guys have any advice for making them?

Trying to make your own water skis is gona be tough. Shaping would prove rather difficult and to mention all the time sanding it to perfection. Id say just get some from a water sports store

Yeah but not everybody has that kind of money. Dont make them out of one solid block of wood. press them with thin layers and epoxy like ur making a skateboard deck. Once u make a press its easy to make a several pairs.
