Guitar Question

Ive got a squier strat and im thinking about maybe upgrading it. Would you recommend that i just get all new pickups and electronics, or would it be better for me just to get a new guitar?

keep it. thers almost no diff. it all brand name one of my friends has a squire and the other friend a fender. ive played both. but i dont like fender anyway

man I wish I had a sweet electric guitar. I only have some rental that I ended up buying and could afford upgrading if I wasn't already putting my money into filmmaking.

Don't listen to anything anyone in this thread has said. Upgrade to a mexican strat or epiphone or something. Awesome electronics in a shitty guitar = shitty sound. A better guitar will not only sound better, but feel and play better.

exactly. Listen to me when i say this. BRANDS DO MATTER. a squier is shit. i started on one as well and if you are serious about playing guitar upgrade to a whole new guitar. dont waste your money buying new elctronics for the squier. You can buy a really nice Mexican Strat by Fender for around $400. I have a mexican fat strat for example and then later i upgraded the bridge pickup on that for a beefier sound. I own a few guitars and i will honestly say go out and buy a Mex. Fender. Tele or a strat both play nice but a little different so go check them out first before you buy.

first of all, its all self preference, but in my opinion squiers arent that bad, and in reality epiphone are just cheap gibsons, theyre the same company, only epiphones are machine made, and gibsons are hand made

Go for a new guitar, the brand really matters. Check out Ltd or Ibanez, awesome stuff.

um id buy a new guitar, there is no point in modifying a squier cuz the mod pickups out their are just as expensive as a new guitar

Buy fender! I got a sick 40th aniversary Strat when my uncle died, and nothing compares to the sound and feel of it.
