I'm lying in a bed for 10 days. Here's my story.

You may have a seen an earlier thread on this asking if it was really worth it, so for those who didnt I'm too lazy to type exactly what I'm doing so direct your attention here: https://newschoolers.com/web/forums/readthread/thread_id/236565/

Basically, I'm participating in a medical study at the University of Colorado Hospital that is testing a new drug to decrease muscle atrophy for astronauts. It's a 19 day thing total, and Ive been here for 5 already. 10 of the days I have to lay flat in a bed. I start the lying down part tomorrow so I figured to help pass some time I'll make a thread on it. Why? you ask, well they are paying me $4,225 for this and I need it for rent on an apartment in Breckenridge. So that's about it really. I just finished a muscle biopsy and that was weird as hell and I'm just anxious to start this whole lying down thing. If you have any questions just post them here because I'll answer them since i really have nothing else better to do. I'll also post on this every day until I'm done with the lying down part of it all. word.

haha i think i probably could whack off it i really wanted, but i think it would just be a little weird cleaning up after myself and doing it in my room which has a roomate that is only blocked by a thin curtain.

Does anyone know how to get around blocked websites????? I'm running through the same server as the University here and soo many sites are blocked! basically every game site and every other thing to it seems like

i love this man... and NS... cuase its a community and people here all willing to post on this tread to entertain you and themselves at the same time. how much physicall activity can u do like... one of my favorite past times is TECH DECK's right i said it... like if u have a desk or table on your lap...as for magazines and scissors and build ramps... then get toung depressers and make rails... u will be so amused. but thats an awful lot of moving around so i dont know.

hahaha tech decks! those are so old school. i remembered i tried them one day when i was young and i sucked horribly so i gave up and havent touched one since. i felt like a loser when all my friends were doing kickflips and shit, and then i would just look like a retarded kid trying to pick up this little skateboard haha

DAY 2

Well, i've done a lot of nothing so far. I've actually watched a shit load of movies so if anyone has any suggestions i'm open to them because we have a guy that runs and rents them for us. his name is Gopher. im not kidding. But i did get a nice massage today by this professional massage thearpist that came in so that was nice because im already having some gnarly back pain. And im reading the book the andromeda strain which is really good if you havent read it. and boondock saints is an excellent movie. The dude abides. cheers.

ahah thats pretty good 4,225 for a few days of sitting on your ass, i mena it must get annoying but as long as there isn't nay super crazy side effects, thats a good money!    you should leanr how to computer program, if you can get into that it gets uber interetsing and you can basically make anythign you want.  or you should hack.......not that i can do either of the 2, but i am sure it would waste a shit load of time.

That is a ridiculous amount of cash to make out of a newspaper ad and for sitting around for 9 days and laying in bed for 10. Thats how most useless kids spend their whole summer. Shit the Mexican people and I have to work full time for 4 months at the motherfucking burger king to make that kind of dough. It this shit is real it would have been the decent thing to give the opportunity to someone who actually needed the rest and the money. I'm calling bullshit on this one as far as the money. If it was legit there would be no need for a newspaper ad someone would have grabbed this opportunity long before it reached your attention.

haha yea well so far on all the other patients thats theyve had on the study the drug has apparently worked. i talked to a guy the other day before i had to start the laying down part, and he had just finished the 10 days of lying down; he said he felt fine and it was just a bit weird standing up after 10 days, almost like youve had a few drinks is what he said, so im not too worried. I'll probably go a little crazy from lying here 10 days straight, so these posts may start getting a bit obscure haha. and ktownchic, youre right theres no one really watching me except when the nurses come in to check on me so i do kinda cheat and sit up on occasion to stretch my back, but i cant stand up because they have this ankle bracelet thing on me that tells the nurses if i stand up i guess.

well its not bullshit. its not just me doing this study, theres been about 30 or so so far. They post the ad in the paper because they need willing participants that can come in with the time off to do this and the mindset to do it. not many people would want to willingly lay down for 10 days. Im sure tons of people call in about it after seeing it in the news paper, but then you also have to come in and do some tests to see if you even qualify to participate, because they cant have just anyone come in off the street to do this. so its totally legit for sure

how's day 3 going?    annnd........for your hakcing shit, this is about all i know, a thing called port tunneling. you need a computer on the outside world though, and you create a port tunnel to that computer, the university can't read the data, and you can access anythign you wnat.  even.....hookers.......maybe.

DAY 3

My back hurts. That's about it. I watched more movies today, and my back fucking hurts. On a better note I'm almost to number 1 on SSX on tour. And what's this port tunneling you talk about? I'm failing at the whole hacking thing, so maybe i'll try this. I tried to kill time by playing guitar but I must say, playing guitar lying down is hard. And my back hurts. Cheers.
