How has nobody called this yet? I think it is pretty clear that K2 simply gave Ashley to Volkl, K2 owns all of them.
Think about it, you're K2 and you just bought Line and you have been spending all of this money to build a sweet Volkl crew. That crew wins the Masters even, you gotta keep it up or Volkl will never have a piece of the Freestyle Market and end up like Atomic so what do you do? Take Ash off the sinking ship you just purchased (probably with the intent to scrap it anyways) and give her to your other brand that you are actually investing in for the future. Think about this, even with all the sick skiers they have now the Dogen (from the original PE mold from 5 years ago and is made in China) probably sold less than even the Triplets last year, and the Karma is just too stiff for most kids to ski park on. They have to do something to grab a slice of the pie.
This is the kind of move I'd expect from K2, buy line and liquidate its assets. Pollard will be on the K2 team by the end of this season you watch. I will bring this thread back up when it happens to prove I predicted it, mark my words. He only works with Line because they practically ask his permission to make any new ski. When K2 offers him his own promodel and shows him the money they have to help him R+D it he will be all over it. K2 doesn't like Line, they never have, they have always been the top 2 in the market, startup versus conglamerate. Well the conglamerate finally won, what did we expect? What was called a change in financial backing will ammount to a hostile takeover by years end.
fantastic insight into the situation, you sound very smart. but unfortunately you are absolutely wrong. "K2sports" is the parent company, they manage different brands that still actually compete against each other, any company would never buy a "sinking ship". your take on the situation and predictions hurt my brain
It is wishful thinking that propels your perception. In good time we shall see though so it is not worth really debating. Companies buy one another out to sink them all the time. K2 will absorb Lines market share into itself and Volkl as soon as it proves more profitable than keeping them around. K2 has done this with several other companies in the past 20 years. If the parent company thinks they can do better keeping the Line name then they will stay, but it is laughable to assume that this is the norm in business.
You need to shut up, fast. Have you ever skid Volkl? That's what I thought, tell me how long they have been making "shit" skis man. Blow me, and LINE too...
when being a proskier is you job, and your cant really have another fulltime, or let a lone part time job, your gonna need money to live, your total bullshit to even think that dude, think about the situation,
HAHAHHAHAH WTF?! i guess good thinking but you have no clue what is really going on and why ash went to volkl. this theory you have is in every bit, wrong.
i would tell the real reasons why, but then people would start talking shit and making shit up. people will find out soon enough if they really wanna know but i dont think i should say anything because of dumb people..
pretty much everyone but me, and makeitmellow, and cosco, dont know what there talking about and they really shouldnt be talking shit, its not ur busiinessss, until ur in that position u wont know,
the real reason is no ones business except ashley's. I can tell you without a doubt, ashley does not make a change just because of money. she never has and never will. She has always followed her heart and does what she feels is in the best interest of promoting the sport for women and to get more women into the sport and to get women the recognition they deserve.
Um......ok you guys are so ridiculous its beyond anything that i've ever seen. Yes line doesn't have a team but if you think about it i'm sure they're not really focused on there team at the moment considering the fact that um......... o yeah they were just bought out by k2. And that may not be a very valid point but line has been there from the begining and there team has never been super amazing. Most of the products that they make are innovative and new and its not like they have a ton of money either to even support a team.
first people need to understad that k2 skis does not own line or volkl, K2 sports does. there is a difference. Line Volkl and K2 skis are all compeeting with each other right now. They are still three seperate companies. What you guys are saying is the same as saying that Saab cars will start being crapy because GM would rather people bought GMC or Chevy cars. however Chevy and Saab are two compleatly different companies. So basicaly K2 sports did not decide to move Battersby over to volkl. You need to understand that K2 skis Volkl and Line are all seperatly run companies.
do you know as a fact? ya and so in the last past years they lost mike nick, mike wilson, michelle parker, josh bibby, ashley battersby, does Dash Longe still ride for them?
