In my opinion religion, God, and any belief system that is "the only belief system" is absolute bullshit, with only a few of exeptions. Literally hundreds of millions of people have been killed because someone else didn't like their religion. God does not exist with natural selection and evolution as my proof.

so basically... i think we all need to take a moment and ask ourselves, "what is real", thats the real question here.

You need to realize that 80 years and eternity are different. Sure, somebody can tolerate their situation for 80 years, but could they cope with it for an endless amount of time?

first i'm 16 years old. second, wait up for minute, how many people have been murdered over another person's beliefs in religion? Countless. That's significant. It's also the importance religion has in the world. Also, if a dad dies then i would expect a son to lose faith, not gain it (i may be wrong).

you're absolutely right, it also gives people reason to kill though

muslims, the vast majority of muslims are very moderate. for the most part their beliefs make people feel safer because they believe that someone is looking out for their life but does that safer feeling drown out the many people that have been killed over it.

thats true, everything you wrote. BUT those things are caused by people, a person dying at 105 years old is different than being shot by someone with different ideas. The utopia in my head only has natural death, and it also does not have religion.

True, a human lifespan is relatively short, and even with infinite amounts of money, I doubt I could do everything I wanted to before I die. But think of it the other way. What would you do if you were immortal? Sure, it would be fun for a little while, but it would be like playing a game with invulnerability turned on. Sure you can go and kill all the bad guys, but after a while, the game seems pointless. Getting old and dying is part of the cycle. If there really is a great infinite beyond or something, I dont know if I would want to do it. I'd rather not even look forwards to that, and instead just concentrate on making my life right now the best I can. Besides, this life is the only one we are guarunteed, and I intend to use it to its fullest, not just devote myself to preparing for something that might be there or not.

Dude, he has a right to say and think what he wants, regaurdless of what the hell your Grandfather did. In fact, your Grandfather fought to preserve our nation, and our nation allows freedom's, including freedom of speech. Part of being a free country is having the RIGHT to question everything and be able to freely, without people like you telling them to "move out of the country if you dont like it". I think people like him preserve our country, because if we ever stop criticising our institutions and governments, we'll become like the countries that you so hanusly want to send this guy. People like your grandfather fought for this country so that the rest of us WOULDNT have to find out what living in such a place does to oneself, so show him a little respect. And just because you do community service doesnt mean you cant be a douchbag, I've volunteered with quite a few.

Most religons belive that your fate, or future is in gods hands, (that can be good or not, like the islamic radical terrorists were like lets fly planes into buldings cause Allah told us to!)
