What happened to good old fashioned war

i give it another month tops before war with at least iran, and possibly syria too. although i have supported the war in iraq until now, i think its time to leave and deal with the people that are actually gonna kill us.
and to address the thread topic, what happened to the days when you didnt need to justify war? gone are the days when leaders like ghengis kahn and alexander the great could invade any number of countries just because they felt like it. i think we need to apply this attitude to our foreign policy. we need to stop trying to protect everyone in the world and look after some of our own interests. 70% of the world's remaining oil is in iran. we need to get over ourselves and just take over their country and oil interests. we cant keep trying to overthrow regimes that hate us and put puppet democratic governments in their place. we need to start destroying, leaving these countries that harbor terrorists in ruins. when they start to rebuild, knock them right back down. we also need to stop crying about the civilians that die in wars. its a war, people die, get over it. if we dont kill them, they will kill us. just because these people you see on tv with their houses destroyed arent actually carrying guns or in the military doesnt mean they wouldnt kill you if they had the chance. they arent as innocent as you think. armies like Hezbollah hide behind their civilians because they know oppsing armies wont risk the civilan casualties. they fire rockets out of people's houses so when the enemy fires back they can bitch about civilians dying. in ancient wars, most civilians were killed. even after they defeated an enemy, the army would just burn the villages and kill people for no reason. they raped the women and took the survivors as slaves. im not saying we have to go that far, but i think we have to put in perspective how war operated for the majority of history.

"70% of the world's remaining oil is in iran."
Where the HELL did you get that fact?
Oh and by the way, you pretty much have NO clue what you're talking about. A lot of people in Lebanon want nothing to do with the war they are in. It's like a country inside a country. I can't believe they let you out of your mothers womb.

70% of the worlds reamaing oil is in iran, it was on tv the other day. and i realize that most people in lebanon dont wnna be involved with the war, but keep in mind that i was talking about hezbollah, not lebanon. the majority of civilians that hezbollah hide behind support them anyway. thanks for telling me i have no clue what im talking about, but ive actually been paying attention to this whole issue, and i could go on for ages about the history and politics of the mideast conflict, but you dont matter enough for me to write you a well researched, well written, and perfect essay about the topic.

First of all you said flatten the countries that have terrorists in them. That would be killing all of Lebanon. Which I said. Yes Hezbollah is in Lebanon, but do you even know why they attacked Israel? Do you know anything about the history of terrorism? That first post gave a very good impression to me that you know nothing of the previous conflicts and that you have just been watching the news on this one subject.
"It is evident that about 70% of the world's remaining oil lies in countries that are not really part of the open market and in which the oil industry is exclusively in state hands."
I think this is the fact you are referring to. Saudi Arabia has a shitload more oil than Iran.

At the bottom of this site is a good chart that shows the oil reserves...Canada is 2nd, but if you take all the Middle East and get a percent of that of the total it is over 69% of the oil. So if he meant the Middle East as a whole he was correct...but Iran itself doesn't have over 70% of the oil.
