hey i have recently got a new boat and have wake boarded at friends a couple time im looking to buy my own wake board wat do you guys recommend??? im short (5 foot 2 inches)
I betchya there are tonnes of wakeboarders on this site, I do, but I dont have a board. Im also not trying to send you off to another place for good or anything, but probably a wakeboard forum could tell you better than here.
umm just go to www.the-house.com or something and check out the packages they have.. go for like a hyperlite or obrien or liquid force or something.. they always have good deals on stuff.. im sure they have a board and binding set up from last year that would be good.
get either a gator, hyperlite, or liquid force. everything else is garbage shit. hyperlite's previous owners just started a new company, it's supposed to be REALLY sick shit, but it's not coming out until 2007. you don't have to get like a premier or anything, just get like mid-line stuff since you're starting out. but don't skimp because then you'll ride shit and won't get the real feel for wakeboarding with the good stuff.
i would recommend:
liquid force team board (130 'cause you're short)
liquid force either fusion or element, both mid-level binders.
and i think since you're 5'2, 130 would be a pretty good size for you. think about it, parks is like 5'7, and he does a 143, and he's like the fastest spinner out there. i'm 5'10, and i ride a 137. if you want any more info or whatever, just send a message over.
go to www.wakeboarder.com or www.wakeworld.com and look there, on wakeworld there is a board wizard where you put in your weight and ability and price range and it tells you what board to buy
yo message me with your riding style now, the riding style you want, your size and weight and ill throw some recommendations your way, alot of my friends are sponsored so i basically ride a different board every day, hit me up
BUMP
I found a really good deal on some JoyRide boards. JoyRide apparently stopped making boards in 2005. So has anyone heard anything about this company? reviews? thanks
How have the design of wakeboards changed over the years? I used to wakeboard on my CWB absolute platinum (great board) all of the time until 2 summers ago.. has it changed much since that board? I plan on wakeboarding for the first time in 2 years.. So pumped!!!
