This winter i am planning on driving from portland to baker for a weekend. i want to go on a good powder week, but i can't find a good forecast website. i would also like to know what the elevation of the base at baker is so i can be shure the powder is dry. i would apreciate it if someone could post post the elevation of the base of baker, a link to a good baker snow forecast site, and a site that lists the snow level in the area. thanks a lot
dry snow? im hoping that was a joke. february/march is probably your best bet for getting a snowy weekend. the top of the mountain is 5000 feet, and i think the lodge is at 3900 or something like that. stay in bellingham, about an hour off the mountain.
there isnt any overnight camping allowed at heather meadows, but nobody patrols it and people do it all the time. just make sure you have enough gas to turn the heater on every once in a while.
