Flex difference

so i ride 06 publics in a 174 and i'm 150 pounds.  i really like the flex on them, as far as buttering and having the all mountail capability.  i was just wanting to know if the 07 foils are a huge difference in flex compared to the PE's, because i'm in the market for some new sticks and i'm really looking into buying a pair.  i know the foils are softer, but will it be significantly softer or is it just a tad?  thanks a ton

foils are going to be softer but a lot lighter also. you will be able to throw em around

do you know how much softer, though? and also, i was going to get a 174 foil.  should i go 182 and mount closer to true center?

anyway if you like you're pe flex maybe look into silencers. i think the flex is very similar. i just got some and i like the flex

150 pounds,  5'8".  20% park, 30% BC, 50 % everything else.  silencers are cool, but dimensions are a tad too narrow for my likings.  i'm really looking into the foils.  karma's looked to be a sweet option, but if they're stiffer than PE's i'm not sure if i would want to buy them.  i'm planning on demoing those later in the year.

silencers are an all mountain ski but i do think you'd like the foils

The silencer's tail is pretty similar to a Fujative's but the overall flex pattern is a lot more even. I'd ski a Silencer over a Foil.

174 is fine, if you start going too big then it gets tougher to get the best flex out of the ski. if you're happy with a 174, stay with it

also, would the ar6 have close to the same flex as foils/silencers?  no one had best tell me to search it... nothing has been all that clear.

i don't know.  that's why i'm researching, thus the point of me making this oh-so-common type of thread.  are you saying foils are significantly softer than publics?  and i'm also considering ar6's.

Unless they've dramatically softened the AR5 to make the AR6, yes.
