Pronunciation of "dakine"

ok this may be a newb question, but then again i guess i am one, but i searched and couldn't find it

so, is it "duh-kyne"
or          "duh-keen"??

well im not so much worried about that part, because if you say it fast you can't really tell whether its duh or dah or deh or w/e

i assume it is da-kyne.

i read somewhere that it is the hawaiian word for the best, and da-keen doesnt sound very hawaiian

It rhymes with line. It's actually not Hawaiian, it's Hawaiian pidgin, and it's a corruption of "the kind". So it's closer to English than Hawaiian.

da-kine "a= apple" "the kind". its Hawaiian slang, it means a lot of stuff, but I think it basicly means "sick!" kind of like this: Da waves whas dakine brah...(throws up the shaka)

It's "day-kine" I know a guy who works for them,that's how he pronounces it. One guy I heard said "dah-kin-eh"
