ivy league schools don't offer athletic scholarships, neither do patriot league schools. I got offered some money to UVA, but they called really late, like around March and I had already made my decision and applied and all that shit. The downside to scholarships is that the university basically owns your life and some people find that the scholarship causes them to lose interest in the sport from over working
as long as u have an 85 average or higher, which i do, they will give u an academic scholarship because they do not offer sports scholarships. 2 soccer players from my town already have full scholarships to brown
^yeah, there isn't any such thing as an athletic scholarship for an Ivy league school. However, there is also a lot of "financial aid" that just happens to find its way into the pockets of a few extremely gifted athletes. But, of course, there are no athletic scholarships available.
Patriot league schools can give scholarships, but not all don't. I know for a fact, Colgate couldn't give athletic scholarships until about 2 years ago. Now I know they can. There hockey team has scholarship players.
I kinda did, not really a direct sports scholarship. But because of my sports, community service and grades I was given a scholarship (not full). Its close to impossible to get a full ride for sports in Canada ( I think it might even be illegal) But schools find loop holes by offering athletes other things like first choice for classes, free physio and other neat stuff.
Lots of people think its bullshit that varsity athlest get treatrd differnt then other student, but I'm not complaining.
