so, first of all, I know final cut express sucks balls and that i should be using pro, but for now i just need a question answered: when i export edits out of FC express, i use "export as quicktime conversion" and usually use .mp4 or .mov files. but EVERYTIME i do this, it exports either in super bad quality or has small glitches in the titles, transitions, etc. Am i doing this wrong? is there a better way to export so i have a cleaner finished product? help!

Try clicking on the options button and adjusting them yourself. Set quality to High, etc. Or, if you are trying to export for NS or something like that, change the dropdown from Default Settings to whatever option will give you the right size file (Broadband - Medium, etc.). As far as the glitches go, make sure that they do not appear in your original edit by inspecting it first, and when it is exporting, you can even try to just leave your computer alone and don't use any other programs so it doesn't screw it up.
I'm definately no pro at FCE, but that's all I can tell you.

Never used express, as I have the Pro HD version, but if the options are the same for exporting, file, export, quicktime movie, but make sure that the boxes are checked for "recompress all frames" and "make movie self contained"
