I have never realized what a good band they were until I bought a cheap greatest hits cd. I used to listen to them back in the day but man, you don't see such good music nowadays. And apparentley corgan, iha, auf de maur and the old bassist from jane's addiction are coming out with a new album soon, can't wait for that.
my first CD i ever bought was Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. are they considered emo? cause their music has some really dark and depressing shit in it. back in 5th grade i had no idea tho i all like despite all my rage i am still just a rat in a cage
ha i was listening to them on the one and a half hour drive back frmo the beach tonight.. and i was thinking the same thing!! too badi wasnt really into them when i was yougner
This is weird, because just last week I downloaded a heap of their songs, and I never remembered them being that good or powerful before. Just an amazing band that I have overlooked for a few years.
yeah dude, their greatest hits album is sick... i like the song perfect.. Girl skateboards used that song in the keenan milton memorial part, its powerful shit
yes so great band love there songs ive heard a bunch but never really paid attention till recently i love 1979 and if you have heard the cover of sunday bloody sunday its amazeing
havent listened to much of the new album, dont really care to. they were sooo good with siamese dream. amazing album, great all the way through, but they (corgan actually) ditched their great crunchy guitar sound for electronica. which was cool for some songs. but all my favorite ones are off siamese dream.
are they emo? who the fuck cares. they are amazing. but did you know billy recorded every bit of guitar on their albums? ask yourself, could you work with such a control freak? even if he does produce amazing work? no wonder james and darcy didnt want to come back for their new album.
