Hey guys so i'm looking at buying a pair of new big trouble this year and i have have heard alot of different things about them...i have heard that they are amazing off-piste and on booters and that they also can perform in the park and on groomers. But i have also head that they are weak as hell...i've heard of them delaming quickly and getting chunks taken out of their bases and all that. So whats the real deal on them? Are they worth buying? Or should i consider something like the BCs? Cause i had the TMs and yeah they were pretty weak...but you would think that the big trouble is stronger because its more of a freeride ski than the TM. P.S. I weigh 185lbs and am 6'4.

The newer skis are certainly more durable than in the past, and the Big Troubles are pretty beefy. Great for everything you just said. a 186 would be a delightful ski for somebody your size.

dang it nomensteven, just when I start thinking you are a good guy, you make a stupid comment like this! You haven't heard anything about them, have you? Just taking a wild stab? I hate to call people out, but this is a must. Everything you said is completely off base.
ATTENTION, this is the real truth, NOT what is said in the quote: The BTs are VERY damp and stiff compared to MOST twin tip skis. The don't have tons of pop and therefore are good at making some more aggressive turns and ARE good for a beefier skier. They in fact are probably a slight bit stiffer than the Scratch BC. They are a good all mountain ski and would be a good fit for you. Since they have such a high tail they do ski slightly shorter than the length would suggest, however, the dampness compensates and makes it a ride most larger skiers enough. The only place they aren't amazing is in trees, because they are a little bit heavier (NOT LIGHT, Nomen) and tougher to manuever, but by no means clumsy. I would highly recommend this ski for you. If you fell unsure of my comments, go check TGR and the many reviews there.

well I apologize if you have somehow ridden them and came to that conclusion then, but you seem to be the only one I know who holds the opinion of them being either soft or light :)

you are right, I should not have assumed anything about your character. My assertion was based on many kids on this site guessing about a ski rather than speaking from experience and knowledge.
