You know Petek there are other ways to work out without a gym (pushups,etc) and I wouldn't like a guy who was like a stick but I guess looks aren't everything and I was attracted to him and he had a nice personality but not a goody goody I would most likely go out with him. I hate it when guys act all cocky. It's almost like they think they're better then everybody else when they really aren't. It's really bad when they think they look like crap though and get all depressed about themselves...but that's not the point. As far as looks go, they have to look decent, but in my opinion, bulging muscles are gross. Some muscle is definately good though. But like the other person said, you can get muscle without a gym membership. It might help to get it for a while if you are a totally wimpy looking guy...just another opinion though.

You don't have to go to the gym. You could go running (FREE), then do push up and sit ups on the grass (FREE), you can jump in the public lake and make about 10 laps (FREE). Do you think cave-men had gyms?

Yea you're not gonna get bigger doing pushups around the house. If you're looking for hypertrophy you need to seriously plan your workouts out. You should be doing usually 4 sets an exercise w/ all reps between the 6-10 range. You also shouldn't do a generic workout, you should do splits. Mine are like this.
Chest/Tricepts
Biceps/Back
Shoulders/Legs
Every other day and usually an additional off day. You also need the right kind of diet because experts say to try and get 1 g of protein per pound of body weight. Alright any more health questions may have I can definitely answer.
