Wireless headsets are not "bluetooths"

yea, im waiting for some better stuff to come out, the wireless stuff is way to bulky. Till it slims down il stuck to my sony dj headset with its cord anyday

negative. bluetooth is a patented wireless device connection method/protocal. many phones use bluetooth technology to link the phone to headsets and snyc bases.

I've never hear someone call a headset a bluetooth, they'll call it a bluetooth headset. And technically you title should be "Wireless headsets are not "blueTEETH""

maybe its just around here that they call them that. I even heard a commercial for a cell phone store selling bluetooths.

I was actually debating on whether or not to call them blueteeth but since it was a brand name or whatever I decided not to.

i cant stand those little things, people walking around with something in the ear, i cant see, so when they talk i always look at them and say what, until they point at their ear

It's easier for people to associate what they're selling. They hear bluetooth and know it's wireless, "dope looking", and what all the cool people have.

So I go to my best friend and say "Hey check out my wireless headset."

Many people that I have talked to would say "Hey check out my bluetooth."

I bought one for my dad and since christmas he's been walkin around with shades on thinkin he's in the secret service. All I can say is, I am deffinitly adopted.

we know. what he is saying is that people call the actuall ear piece a "bluetooth" which by yours/mine/his standards is wrong. it is a Bluetooth headset not a "bluetooth"

I did but I have not noticed anyone dumb enough to call somethign a bluetooth. same with emo. you cant say "look at that emo." What you can say is "Look at that scene kid" or "look at that fag."

The comparison of chapstick and kleenex is also the same thing which you are complaining about. Brand association so widely deployed that the majority of a consumer population call a product by a brand name rather than by the product name...because in their shallow ignorant little world that "brand" IS the "product".

There are however certain circumstantial instances where the deployment of the brand name for a product becomes SO wide that the word becomes part of societal language and the dictionary has to be re-written to reflect the organic growth of english linguistics. Example: "googling" or to "google" is now a word in the english dictionary which means to "search for specific information about a person or thing using the google search engine" and is deemed a verb and part of modern "formal" english language.
