transitions in premier

ok so i just got premier and im learning to put some stuff together.

but no matter what i do i cant seem to get the transitions to work, and im working in the a/b time line thing.

all i want to do is fade from a black screen into a still picture, and then fade back into a black screen.

can anybody help me out?

seward backwards is drawes,blackman term for underwear - Lateralis pointing something out that i have never noticed in my 18 years of existence

you need to have something on video track A and something on video track B, then make them overlap and place the transition in the F/X track that is in between them. go to digitalskate.net they tell you everything to do there

yea i have two clips
one in a, and the other in b
and then overlapped them halfway and inserted a transition on the transition line.
then when i go to view it in the monitor, the transition isnt there?

i checked the help for the program, and it told me nothing usefull.
