I have to make the decision soon for this spring. Should I either play Lacrosee on the team for the first year our school has had a team, or should I throw shotput and discus, and run the 100 meeter on the track team? I can't do both because they are both spring sports at the same time.
is that even a question? track is for people who have nothing better to do or their parents make them do it. I'm freinds with the top five guys on our track team and one of them actually likes it. If you ask a trackie why they do it they rarely actually have a reason. fuck track
You are wrong. Flat out. I ran track for my high school for 7 seasons (indoor and out) and my parents could care less. I loved track, and i still do and i will be continuing in college. I am an EXTREMELY competitive person, so what could be better than a sport where the only person to blaem when you lose is yourself? Yes, you have to be self motivated a lot, but if you like competition, track is better. Also, there is more to do in track than just run in circles. Run anything longer than 200, and track takes more heart than any sport, except maybe swimming, but thats in the same boat. Also, you never know, you might be really talented. Frosh year i got cut from teh tennis team and went out for track without ever doing it before, and senior year i was 3rd in NJ for triple jump and got recruited for it. So, give track a shot(put) HAAAAAAAAAAA FUNNNYYYYY
Track takes more heart? Are you getting pounded by defenseman 4 times your size with a metal pole or just getting tired from running? Because I run as fast and as hard as I can for the whole game with little or no breaks, while getting beat by a metal stick. Heart is fighting to win at all costs, track is trying to scrap a second or 2 off your time. But I'm sure you've never played lacrosse. :)
well acutally i have. But thats ok. Its an opinion, and if scraping a second or 2 off your time is as easy as you make it sound, maybe you could break some world records
that's what i dont like about track its all about who's obsessed enough to work out more. it doesn't take skill, doesn't take balls, just "heart." I play ultimate frisbee, and before you scoff at it because it's not a sport, we train harder than our track team for conditioning AND practice ultimate skills too. I've done lacrosse, baseball, and xc skiing and ultimate is harder than all of those. we're also a super competitive team, the only team in MA we lost to was amherst high school who is fuckin dirty, and is playing in worlds next week. And it doesn't really appeal to me that you have no one to blame but yourself, I guess track is fun if you are a psychotic competitive fitness freak, but if you want to be an actual athlete go with lax.
word yo. those guys wouldnt be mentally tough enough to run track, they would be too weak if they play lax. you have to be tough to run 50 miles a week and stuff. but whatever you like better, you really gotta like to run.
my team ran 25 miles a week distance, plus practice 3 hours practice, plus sprints. i bet you track kids wouldn't be pshyically tough enough to place lax.
our school doesn't have a pole vault team. So when our track team went to confrence, we are already an entire event short. But because we won every single field event in confrence, 1st and second including in throwing, and sent all field atheltes to state, we won confrence.
well if you run 50+ instead of 25 then that would count for way more than 3 hours of practice, and then speed workouts and hill repeats are alot worse than sprints. i would know too because i do them in basketball and i used to play soccer. and plus in a game its sprint hard and then sit there and rest, in track you run as hard as you can for a mile or 2. if you arre distance. but oh well think what you want i dont want to argue anymore. i just wanted to let you know that track isnt for pussies. and im not saying lacrosse is.
i think you will have a lot more fun in lacrosse and also get more women. so much fun shit happens when you play lacrosse then running track mostly by yourself or wiht a couple guys.
uhhh yea ive played lacrosse, then changed to track... and honestly, u cant compare the two... lacrosse is hardcore cuz yea, people are literally beating the shit outta you, and u gotta try and do wat u train to do... but in track your beating the shit outta yourself, and u gotta make yourself go more wen u are totally shot. i had a great time doin both, but i think my time was better spent running
(and by the way, im not a hardcore fitness training dude, like someone up there said u hadda b to enjoy track)
do wat you wanna do... i picked track over lax cuz i was better at it, and it gave me something to do 3 seasons a year (xc, winter, spring ) instead of just one. all in all, just have fun and work hard
I would have 2 say if ur a fast out of the blocks and can win majority of the races...do track..girls always check out whos in first...but if u like lax better then do it
Lax lax lax lax. I started playing in 4th grade cuz all my friends played and let me tell you, best decision ever. Lax is so much fun, escpecialy if you like to kick the shit outta people.
ok,,, if YOUR really really good at track do that,, If ur not that great do lacrosse, I was the orginal people who helped my school get lacrosse and it was kind of frustruating our team because we did have many good players and we sucked asssssss.
I do track. I run the 100 meters. Basically, I run for 11 seconds and then sit around and chill with other athletes. It's dope. Lacrosse is a cool sport too tho. It really comes down to what you feel like doing.
what the hell is wrong with track? ive been running it for four years (indoor and outdoor) and im competing in a division college. i regret that im not playing soccer, but what can ya do really? do whatever you like better or whatever you're gonna be more successful at.
not like i really care about getting woman because i play a sport, but i'd just like to take the time to prove you wrong here. If anything, you get more girls while running track. Think about it. During lax, you are on an all guys team, you chill with all guys all the time, except maybe the occasional party, but you can go to parties any time. In track, the teams are coed. You can mack it during any time of the long meets, because you aren't running 100% of the time. So you are wrong. sorry! Not like i even care about this aspect of either sport, since i play teh sport for the game, not how many ladies i can get out of it, though
It's so true. It reminds me of a commercial on tv. (think it's for toyota) Anyway, there's a highschool guy in the car with his football helmet obviously dejected from being cut from the team. They pull up to the light and see three hot chicks in spandex. the dad turns to his son and says "see, that's why I joined the track team when I was your age." Plus, track chicks are hot. they have the best asses hands down.
well I've been doign track for like 6 years. And I chose it over team sports such as basketball and soccer. Because well my school was terrible at team sports and i got frustrated by being held back by a team. Ive always enjoyed solo sports more then team sports. You push yourself to the limit and you cant blame other people for loosing.
Either way you cant lose, but consider this track girls are drop dead beautiful and lacrosse well you see to many on the trips.
defently talk LAX.. but thats only if ur not amazing at track.. cuz first year teams arnt good at all lol.. i was an assistant capatin for my first year lacrosse team at my schoool and we never won a game cuz we werent very organized and stuff
