i was talking to family about skiing and no one knew what steeze meant and it occured to me i didnt know how to define it. the first thing that i wanted to say was "eric pollard" but they wouldnt understnd that either so i was wondering how you guys and girls describe steeze?
the concept of steezy comes from the ancient aboriginal word stezaluciousness, which, loosely translated, means making something look easy, and doing it with style. over the centuries, and in an effort to shout out this complement in the middle of battle without having to stop and take a breath to say the word, it simplified to stezlush, then stizzle, and now the most recent adaptation, steezy.
I know a kid who insists that "steeze" is a noun, and is another name for a doo rag. I told him its style and he called me a fag. This makes me a sad panda :(
steeze is just style not neccasarly (sp) good or bad. like pencil steeze is straight and not good usually. but generally if someone says that ws steezy or something its gonna mean good style
the way that a skier presents him/herself and their from when performing a manuever
"steeze" is based on what is accepted (or more oftenly not accepted haha) as what is aesthetically pleasing and what is fashionable
Everyone gets way too worried about stuff being played out. If something is popular its not a bad thing, its actually a good thing. See if a word is used by a lot of skiers then clearly its just a part of our vocab. You dont have to replace that word when you think it gets "played"
Really you cant play a word out. Its a word man you just say it. Stop worrying about its meaning, it is whatever you want it to be. I choose to interpret the word as style with ease. Thats it. So I call things "steezy" and I dont know of any other words that have the same meaning.
i think steeze is YOUR style.. and YOUR style, and how easy YOU make a trick look. Everyone has their own steeze. Steeze is not generic, its individual.
