SNOWBOARD Magazine Enters Partnership Agreement With Storm Mountain Publishing Company
Hailey, ID (July 31, 2006) — SNOWBOARD Magazine is pleased to announce that it has entered into a long-term partnership agreement with Storm Mountain Publishing Company, publisher of FREESKIER Magazine, and will continue to publish issues for the upcoming 2006/2007 winter season and beyond. It was announced today by SNOWBOARD Publisher Mark Sullivan.
“It’s a very exciting time for all of us at the magazine,” said Sullivan. “This new strategic alliance will allow us to grow as a business and help us to reach our full potential.”
The new arrangement comes just weeks after SNOWBOARD announced that it would not be publishing its September issue due to financial constraints. The news spurred widespread discussion within the snowboarding industry and abroad.
“We had several interested parties, and ultimately we decided that joining forces with Storm Mountain Publishing and its team was the best way to go,” said Sullivan. “Our titles complement one another perfectly, and having the infrastructure and resources of a successful, independent publisher will help us reach the next level. Storm Mountain Publishing also shares our philosophy of contributing to the health and long-term growth of our respective sports.”
Bradford Fayfield, president & CEO of Storm Mountain Publishing is enthused about the partnership.
“This is an incredibly exciting opportunity for SNOWBOARD and FREESKIER,” said Fayfield. “As independent publishers, Mark and I have faced similar challenges competing against the corporate media giants. This union will allow us to work together to level the playing field and take our respective titles to entirely new levels.”
The SNOWBOARD staff is already hard at work putting together Issue #1, Vol. 3. The number and frequency of the new season will be revealed shortly, along with updates on the progress of the partnership. Please log on to

“I want to thank everyone for their support over the past few weeks,” Sullivan added. “The encouragement of many people in the snowboarding community helped make this magazine happen, and without the help of all our friends, it would not be possible.”
