i believe in it, but i dont think its because of people putting stuff into the air, when mt st helens exploded, it put more shit in the air then humans ever did

I feel sad telling you this...but emissions from the world's factories and cars are the equivalent of mt. st. helens erupting 3 times EVERY DAY. Isn't that awful?

the paper doesn't dispute global warming, nor does it challenge that sea surface temperatures can influence storm strength. What it does conclude is that the effect of this on hurricane strength is negligible, or much less than has been reported. It just says that hurricanes are pretty much the same intensity now as they were before, on the whole. They're not getting stronger now cause of global warming--the old ones were just as strong, we just measured them poorly.

I feel sad disputing this...but that stat must be total bullshit. Source, please. Ever hear just how much global temperatures were affected by the Mt. St. Helens eruption? And you're trying to tell me that pollution has 3 times that effect every day? Bull-shit.

Another point is that this time last year we had had 3 hurricanes and 2 tropical storms. So far we have had 2 tropical storms, one didnt even make landfall and the other was very weak.

i like this logic. as long as weather patterns remain inconsistant we have nothing to worry about. however, once mother nature creates a comfortable & predictable schedule of destruction, we might want to think about how we effect the envoironment.
what do a couple of silly gases releasing into the atmosphere have to do with our survival anyway? it's not like we need a steady atmosphere to survive, look at mars it's just like earth!
(holy e-sarcasm for those who are not informed.)

it is not that at all, it is that every once in a while their is a year that is extraordinary and different than others. The same thing happens in nature with fruit producing plants there are allot of years when they are average, but then every once in a while it might have a good/bad year. Smae thing goes for floods and annual rainfall.

true, but to the extend of breaking numorous world records in overall activity? 10 typhoons in one year on japan! 7 was the previous record.
how can one argue that storms don't increase when the water is warmer?
one thing i find funny about humans is their means of accepting information. there can be 5,000 articles filled with facts that support a theory, but if 1 article is released voicing the opposite side that they want to believe. it will remain as the only relevant article. when will we learn that when something is written it may contain information that is not correct? this applies to both parties on the global warming dispute. fact of the matter is that the world is getting warmer, look at LA this past week. why not at least try to change a little bit?
the answer to that question is simply that we can't control the industries, none of us have the power to. until the powerful players in our economy and the law makers are separated, our economy will not be thinking about the betterment of society and our world. they'll be thinking about getting rich and enjoying their life before they die, fuck everyone else.
it's sad, i wish our society had more time, we could probably do some amazing stuff if we weren't going to have to revamp our world.

of course global warming is affecting the weather... storms brew over the water. warmer water gives storms more energy. thus, storms are stronger.
but anyway, global warming most likely leads to global cooling. say an ice sheet such as the greenland one melts. tons of fresh, cold water is dumped into the northern oceans. this water sinks and the warm, salty water rises. this disrupts the water circulation as the cold water acts as a barrier preventing the warm water from moving north, more or less shutting down circulation. thisd leads to a drop in temperature.
