Cracked rail/need advice on what i should do to fix it(pics)

Ok well i think this happened when i fell trying to get onto a box or flat rail. I might just have to take it to the shop if i cant do anything because i dont want to take any chances. heres a picture:

well, some ppl arent going to understand your topic. What is in your picture is an "edge". A rail is something in a park your grind......and no, there is nothing that you can do, except a weld...your shop can do it...

sorry i mean "edge", other than skiing i surf and skimboard and the edges are called rails.

Try to get your shop to send them back to the company. They will either give you new skis or give you the $$$ back, or if they suck ass they won't do nothing.

Take it to a tech, its easy to fix, but a shop will try and charge you a lot. Myabe try and buy a tech a 12 pack and they'll do it. I know I would. They will cut out the section of edge and screw in a new section of edge. They cut a piece of ptex to the right shape and glue it down. Thats all there is to it. Of course it wont be as strong as befor, but as long as your not just slidign ralis with them it should be fine.

umm that is quite obviously rail damage so no company will give you anything for 'em, but if you go to a good shop the techs will probably be willing to give it their best. at good shops they're usually pretty good about hookin you up when you're in a pickle like this, but there's only so much they can do. if they do fix it some pics would be sweet to see what they did. worst case scenario, smash it flat with a mallet and you got yourself some crap skis.

actually looking at it again you could probably ski them for a little bit, escpecially if your shop throws some ptex or epoxy on it to keep water out. you'd be surprised how well you can get by with fucked up bases/edges.

The same thing happened to me once with one of my old skis when I was spinning onto a flat rail, It looked the same as yours except that the edge wasn't broken. My shop fixed it because I had a tuning season pass, they just clamped the base where it was sticking out and maybe hit it with a mallet a couple of times. A good shop would be able to fix that, just bring it in.

Yea that's what I thought at first, but when my skis did the same thing two years ago I gave it a try and it worked out real well.

well, lets see........his name is K2JuvyKid....hmmm, lets think...Kid? im guessing he younger.

he rides K2 Juvy's.....hmmmmmm, im guessing hes shorter.

So, in my estimation, he is 12 years, 2 months, 3weeks, 9 hours, 4 minutes, 42 seconds, and 9 miliseconds old as of NOW!

Its probibly more economical to buy some newones rather than fix those ones. Get some last years models for cheap.

if those are juvy's i broke mine too. i broke them in 2 places. i brought them to the shop and they said all i could do was email k2 for a new pair. but k2 never emails back so i just bought new skis

your local shop should be able to fix it for a price. theyll reweld the edge and reshape/grind the base so its flat again. its a lot of work so itll cost you a decent amount
