I used to use DC++ to download music and movies on my school server, but now that I have a Mac I can't since DC++ is PC based software. Does anyone know of a similar downloading programs that work well on a Mac?
Stay the fuck off limewire, that thing is RIDDLED with viruses and trojans that will screw your computer badly. At least on a PC. Use torrent apps, like emule or microtorrent to get files, and use www.thepiratebay.org to get stuff.
i was curious to find out how things like bittorrent works so i tried downloading a PC game. the file was on my computer for one day (without being installed) and my dad got an email from Comcast cable saying that the owner of the game was going to be filing suit for illegal use of it's product, etc, etc. fucking rediculous if you ask me. i know its a risk you take, but i've been doing that shit on napster, kazaa, and most recently limewire for years.. and the first damn file i download from them i get caught? seems fucked up to me. who knows, other people must have had good experiences with things like bittorrent or they wouldn't be around, but i definately won't go near that shit again.
