hey i just got my first ipod yesterday and i plugged it into the usb port last night at like 9 or 10...its now 4pm the next day and it still says do not disconnect.. does it usually last this long and can i start putting music on it while it says this
You could start putting music on it whenever you wanted. Like someone else said all you need to do is eject it when your done either by clicking on the little up arrow right next to ipod on the left in itunes or right click on the ipod in My Computer then goto eject. It will stay do not disconnect untill that. When Im lazy i just iplug it without ejecting it. I dont think it really does much.
yo man its suposta say that. there is a book that comes with it its called a instruction booklet.it tells u stuff abouyt the ipod, and it also has a trouble shoot section. i advise u to take a look at that.
sometimes i had problems when using different user accounts on windows xp. Another account somehow was the default one for ipods so it said "do not disconnect" but i couldn't upload music.
If thats your problem, just log off all other users or restart the the computer
well you can eject it so that it doesnt say Do Not Dissconect. Then you can unplug it but it sometire corrupts ur ipod when you unplug it while it says Do Not Dissconect. Then you have to go through the process of reformatting it and shit. Just eject it in itunes so u dont have to deal with the formatting bullshit.
