I cant believe that hollywood would go so low as to make a movie, as a way to make millions of dollars of profit, and benefit off of the deaths of american civilians, it has nicholas cage in it so obviously if they paid him to be in it they plan on making lots of money, is is just me or do some people have no standards or souls?

That movie is gonna stir up so much contraversy. Atleast they aren't pulling a pearl harbor and releasing it on 9/11.

maybe you should talk to the president you support so much about using americans deaths to acheive something. its a a tribute. there wont be anthing commerical involved , it is meant to show how people helped eachother that day. go watch the fucking preview and stop being such an uptight conservative asshole.

well let's see...it's being released as a major motion picture, starring a major movie star. of course commercialism will be involved. unless they donate at least half of the profits from that movie to victims of 9/11, or something along those lines, i will consider it tasteless and inconsiderate.

why shouldn;t they make a movie? terrible event yeah, but the angle of this film is going to celebrate the heroes that tried to help during it. - and if those people who ran into the towers once they'd been hit don;t deserve some celebration- then who the fuck does!?

yeah its their job- but major catastrophes lead to abandonment of such jobs (see hurricane katrina as example- and the ones who stayed there deserve celebration as well) and for them to stay and in many cases give their lives trying to help others - thats fuckin heroic.

Its going to be like a saving private ryan in a way. It shows how people came together, stepped up and helped out the country. They have movies on wars, in which american civilians died. I think i could be a good story line to show how the two people struggle to stay alive during the time of need

I won't see it; but it's along the same lines (as a tribute) as Tora Tora Tora, Pearl Harbor, Schindler's list, Munich, and Saving Private Ryan. It isn't made to be disrespectful.

"profits" does not equal "net income". Anything over and above what it cost to make the movie is what will be donated, I assume.

making a movie like this so soon after it happened is absolutely disgusting. the first pearl harbor movie didn't come out until like 12 years after that catastrophe. it would be one thing if the movie was a documentary or something, but this is just plain sick.

When i watched the preview and was finally able to calm down, they said they would donate 10%. While that seems noble and just, i think it's bullshit. If they really cared they would donate the entire profit; or better yet wait more than five years to make the movie. just to help you out.
