Motion City Soundtrack emo?

i need to settle a dispute...i have been listening to motion city for a while and they are one of my favorite bands..but one of my friends always calls them emo. i say theyre not emo and my friend says they are..whos right?


by the way i listen to some emo music (from first to last, Emery, The Starting Line)...dont know if that matters but whatever

eh, they have a little bit of emo in them. maybe more of an indie rock band, but definitely at least a little emo. i like them.

they have a touch of emo...thats it. i love motion city soundtrack. one of my favorite bands. i saw them in concert in april. it was a good show. just thought you all should know.

Indie. "Emo" began as decent bands like Bright Eyes and Cursive... but somehow the term became associated with shitty bands like A Simple Plan and Fall Out Boy.

They're not really emo. Some of their lyrics are, but if you want to be really picky most bands (including rap) have some emo lyrics. I like MCS. I'm pumped to see them at the warped tour! http://www.motioncitysoundtrack.com/tourinfo.php?tour_ID=269

personally, i would describe them as indie-emo-pop-punk. the only song ive heard by them is throwdown, but i really liked it.

I like them a lot too, but you have to come to face it; they are emo.

Im not saying they're super hardcore into it, but at least as much as Greenday's last album(thats a whole other argument)

who the fuck cares man, if you like them then listen to them. Just cause theres such a hate emo fad, doesnt mean you should be conserned if there "emo" or not.

If i had to lable them as anything I would just call them pop punk.
