That's the thing with America. Even if only 3% of Iraqis agreed with you, that's all we'd ever hear about. Not the 97% that don't. well Timmy, in the enlightened nation of New Zealand, what are they showing you on your non-biased news? The anti-us riots, all the Iraqis that are pissed that Saddam will so be gone? Your fact that 93 percent of Iraqis hate the US defies logic. We know that Saddam is an asshole, therefore many, not all, Iraqis also know that Saddam is an asshole, therefore many Iraqis are happy that he is gone. And the Kurds, I dont think that too many off the kurds are pissed at the US, and they make up a pretty big % of the country Tim.

Its funny that you think the Iraqis are happy because Americans are in their country.
Well more ignorant than funny.
For the last time, they are happy because Saddam is gone, but the citizens of Iraq are no fans of the US. In a few weeks, they will be upset that you are still in their country, and right or not, they will percieve you as trying to impose your beliefs and western culture on them. They have known only hatred and mistrust of Western culture since they were born. Is that hatred misplaced? who is to say? Just look at Cambodia... During the cold war, the US lead an assisination on a legit leader in that country because he was a communist. They replaced him with a totalitarianist government who went on to murder 30% of its population. If Cambodia had the population of the United States, then that would have equaled 69 million people dead. The US therefore was responsible for the death of 1/3 of an entire country.
When Saddam is replaced, can we be sure that they will be any better than Saddam was?

Actually Phattim, last night on CNN they aired straight footage from a french news station and an arab one. They just showed the iraqis hatin' on the Saddam station. They didn't show any Anti-US riots or anything. So maybe if the media IS hiding something, it's not just the US media, but also french and arab media.

As I've said before. The Arabs will be happy as long as whatever happens brings them profit. The US buying oil will bring them a LOT of profit (as it has to Kuwait) it will infuse money into their govt. Even if we are acting completely out of self interest (which I'm sure we are) it STILL benifits the Iraqi people no matter what you say. The Iraqis will be happy as long as money is going to their country, and it will because it will be a source of cheap oil.

saying all iraqis are happy the states are there, is like saying all americans are christians. we all know that all americans are not christians. from what I've learned is that there are two major religious/ethnic groups of 'iraqis.' the same group as saddam is pro saddam, the other hates saddam. these groups have been fighting for basically their entire history. which group of iraqis do you think has been cheering the states on? the same sort of hate happens around the world. In Ireland someone who is interveiwed is not simply some irish guy, he is catholic or protestant. why is this not the same in iraq?
why would pro saddam iraqis be outside peacfully? they are probably either staying indoors at home hidding or out fighting the americans as we argue over this. the pro saddam iraqis are still fighting for what they beleive in. they won't be dancing in front of any american camera for you to watch on cnn. do some thinking for yourself. don't take what you see on tv as gospel.
