Giro g10 MX / TuneUps II

Im lookin to get this helmet and am curious from those who have tried the TuneUps II how they feel and how they sound (I have an iPod). I am debating on whether or not to invest in a new helmet or just use some Skullcandy SkullThumpers and a beanie. However, I doubt the skullthumpers ability to stand up to powder shots and falls.

Listening to everything from Tom Petty to AC/DC I want to know if the TuneUps II provide decent, crisp sound with a nice bass that doesn't sound underpowered. I'm not a huge audiophile, but I also dont like muffled guitar solos.

Not having used the audio helmets, I just assume the sound quality is far inferior to those of legit skullcandy headphones. On the other hand, you mos def want a helmet for skiing to protect your noggin

I dont want to get a earbud headphone, but wonder if the skullthumpers would fit under the g10 well enough...

yeah dude go for the helmet with audio ear pads for sure...its nicer in everway. The sound quality is great and it sounds a ton better, sinceits not inside your ear you can still hear people talkin to you, plus the tuneups come with a mute button which is sooo nice for when you're on lifts and stuff.

that helmet has the skullcandy headphones in the earflaps. at least thats what the guy said.

i got the tuneups 1 becuase all i need it for is to use with my ipod, and theyre 20 bucks cheaper. (tuneups 2 have the cell phone adapter as well)

okay so i just listened to wheelz of steel by outkast which has a pretty good bass line and it is definitley noticeable.  nothing head shaking but you know its there. 

then i listened to slayer raining blood and it sounded like it should...awesome.


these are the tuneups 2.  looking at the manual for the tuneups it says the speakers are
