What editing program is the best

ok i only have movie windows movie maker right now, wich is not cutting it and im wanting to kno wich is the best so i dont go out and waste my money... please help

for mac, i would say final cut, and for pc, premier. both are pretty expensive though i think.

depending on the capabilities of your computer. Adobe Premiere 6.5 should be good.. IF you have a ton of ram and a fast chip... shoot for adobe premiere pro 2.

if not.. look for pinnacle or something along those lines if you are strapped for cash..
