Replying to Advice on video editing software, please help.

i'm looking at all kinds of video editing software. i'm wondering what you people have and if you like it or not...i'm not looking for anything super great, a low price would be awesome, but what are some good ones out there. my main focus is this: something that is easy to use, but has a ton of options and effects and stuff. i want to be able to slow clips down and stuff, and burn a dvd of it when finished.
