Replying to NS, I really REALLY need your help
Okay, I have such a dilemma on my hands. I need some help. I have four choices that I can pick whatever from, dealing with cars. Mind you, right now I'm driving a 98 ford windstar with hardley any brakes and it's about the shit the bed. Plus it sucks up gas like none other.
Choice 1: I lease a 2007 VW Golf (Rabbit) for two years, which is when I go off to college for frosh year. And when I get back (summer, vacations, etc.), I don't have a car, it's gone. So I use whatever is given to me. Yet, I test drove one today and it was AMAZING. Such a nice car for so little money. I'm in love with it.
Choice 2: I buy a 2006/2007 VW GLI (Jetta). Yet, when I go off to college my mom takes over the car, then when I get home (summer, vacations, etc.), my mom is buying an Eos in sept when they come out, so I DO have a car when I get back. Nicest car I've ever driven, basically a GTI except in sedan form. Super fast, amazing handling, best car I've ever driven.
Choice 3: I get $10,000 dollars to spend on whatever car I want, but then I must pay for every repair it might need. Yet, with the money left over I can use that towards skiing (trips/gear/etc.)
Choice 4: I keep driving the mini van and get $10,000 dollars and my moms boyfriend keeps doing free repairs on it. But, it's about to die soon, so you can't really repair a dead car.
I know most of you would say choice 3, and so do I, yet I don't want to spend $3000 dollars on some used golf (which I'd be ecstatic with) then spend another $4000 on repairs then I only have $3000 left for skiing, when I could've just earned that $3000 dollars myself and still gotten the Rabbit or GLI.
I mean, I already do pay for ALL of my own ski stuff, so earning money for skiing and having a GLI or whatnot wouldn't be so bad at all. Yet, I never have enough money to head out to Queens Cup or ski camp, so that 10 grand could pay for trips like that, which would be absolutely amazing. But if I go about buying the cheap used car and paying for all repairs, then I lose the trips.
Oh, and some of you might say just get a GTI instead of GLI or Rabbit, yah it's out of the question. The way I drove one today, my mom said I would never be allowed that fast of a car, when I'm living with her atleast. I guess I kinda scared her, haha.
