anyone know how good they are with their warantee? i have a jacket from '05 which one of the seems is coming unraveled. anyone who has dealt with their warantee staff please send me some advice
BE CAREFUL!!!!!!! i sent in my code down about a month ago and it had a minor tear in the seam. it was still wearable but i wanted it fixed. i took it in to the helly store at the mall and they took care of it for me. i got a call a few days later saying they couldnt fix it and that they were going to give me a credit and couldnt send me the jacket back. i really wanted my jacket back, and demanded this instead of store credit. they said they donate all their coats and i probably couldnt get it back. after a few hours of phone calls they found the jacket and sent it back to me.
so.... moral of the story.... make sure to write a note in the box that you want the jacket back if you dont want store credit. it will save you a lot of hassle. if you are fine with store credit if they cant fix it then no worries.
you can either just take your jacket into any helly store and tell them you want it warrantied and they will take care of it for you or they have a place on their website that tells you where to send in your jacket.
My jacket come unsewed in one place. I took it to the shop where I bought it from. They sent it to helly hansen. Half the ski season later, I got my coat back. They fixed it but it took so long I wish I would have just not bothered.
correct. when i worked at helly this is what we told people to do. all the people at the store are doing is mailing it for you. just go to www.hellyhansen.com, click on "sport", then "about us", then "warranty".
Helly Hansen has a great warranty, if you can ever get your shit back from them.
My jacket took over 4 months to come back to me, and by the time it was "ready to ship", they couldn't find it in their warehouse. So one month later, I called, I begged, I pleaded, and finally, I got mad and told them to either get their shit together or get me a new jacket. They got me a new jacket, but when I spend $600 on a fucking jacket, I expect much, much, much better warranty service, and quick turnaround time. Neither of which Helly Hansen gave me. It didn't help that coastal BC was getting rain to the top of mountains and that I really needed my "waterproof" (nothing HH makes is actually waterproof, FYI) jacket, and that they took so much time in warranteeing my jacket that I got soaked using my $89 Nike windshell.
Thanks Helly Hansen. I'm glad that shitty performing but good looking jacket got stolen from me at a bar. It gave me the excuse I needed to buy something made by Burton.
