it's true, if you go to tell someone to use the search bar, and someone else already has, click the "back" button immediately unless you have anything else useful to say.
and even if it is a repost, there's plenty of reposted stuff that i've never seen before, it's impossible that every single person on this site will see a certain thread, unless it's the 'rob and wizard hat' or 'hot girl' thread.
