Building a kicker into a pool...

So I was at my neighborhood pool the other day, just chillin' and thinkin' a little about skiing. Then I decided that I could practice spins and flips into the pool. About then, I realized that it would be waay easier to do without skis, and the only really decent way to practice would be to strap some skis on. So I got to thinking of building a big ramp with a nice kicker at the bottom, so I could ski down and jump out into the middle of the pool.
...Has anybody ever done this??
...How pissed do you think my neighbors would be?
I am pretty good at building things with wood, so I figure I need a frame out of 2X4s, a plywood top, and something to stablize. The next problem is, I need something slippery so my skis will actually slide. Does anybody know what that white carpet stuff under lifts is, and where I can get it? Any help or tips is appreciated.

well i have some advise for you
1) get a job you lazy kid and pay for your own gear like the rest of us
2) no its doesnt rest your gear as much as you would thin but to avoid nasty edge rust make sure that the ski is dryed well after your done. Also make sure that you dry your boots out fully so that they dont rot and
3)never on this site say "i dont want to make my parents buy me" unless ou want to get serously flamed about being a rich ass that wont even pay for his own gear, im not hating at least not now. You caught me in a good mood but im just saying i have seen it happen and when ns members go after some one it gets ugly

jea, ramps are soo sick. just take a trip to somewhere and do thier ramps. it would take sooo much work to build a ramp that would actually be useful and most likely your neighborhood pool won't be stoked about you bringing in a fucking ramp and jumping into the pool on your skis while kids are trying to swim.

WORD! you don't want to water ramp with your nice new stuff. Often times you can score old skinny skis for free. Not something you'd want to actually ski on, but for a water ramp, no worries. If you live in a mountain town check out the recyling bin. There's always a ton of old skis at the town of Vail recycling center. All of 'em skinny as toothpicks!
I've seen boots there, too, but using someone's old boots kinda freaks me out.

dude. your dumb. your public pool would, NEVER, EVER, EVER EVER lewt you do somethin like that. second, youd need a big ass ramp. thrid, youll look pretty goofy. diving boards work fine, and sackin up in the park is really the best way to learn tricks. commitment is what its about, not ski ramps into pools.
and finally, 60 dollar poles have just about zero steel in them. they wont rust. plus, you dont use poles on water ramps.
