Salomon Big Ski

In the SIA interview on this site, Mike Douglas talks about a "project ski" for the freeride team to develope late this winter. He suggested that it would not be any bigger than 120mm underfoot, and that it should be available for winter 06-07. Has anyone heard more on this ski?

the widest ski is already 162 i believe (correct me if im wrong) how much wider can skis get and still be skiable?

It's so funny, two years ago when I first started skiing Prophets all of my reps were guffawing. I would simply tell them that ignorance is the bliss they enjoyed in laughing and that all of their brands would have skis that big in two years and that once again they would all be 2 years behind Line. Ha! I was right. Hella big skis are just really fun to ride and everyone deserves the opportunity to try them, let alone every pro riding for a major.

Its going to be 200+cm long. 110+ waist and I THINK wood core.

Yeah I heard it is based on their Olympic Ski Jump model but with metal edges and less flex.

That sounds about right, but I am suprised that it will be so long. I thought the 188 was decently long.

Anyone else?

This is what M. Douglas skied for the win at the K2 Back 9 -- looks like the base of last years Gun, but it's definately the topsheet, and why would he be skiing on this years Gun, and not next years like every other pro.
