I haven't the faintest idea. But I must say, bravo. There are tons of kids on this site who respond the Aeryx is the best outerwear company and that they will be ordering some for next season or have already done so. And how many of these kids have ridden in Aeryx clothing? Maybe two or three? So my question is, why are people so pumped on their outerwear for no apparent reason, and how did Aeryx somehow market this so well? I will not be rocking their attire next year because bright colors aren't so much for me (mostly because I don't think I am good enough to wear an all bright green suit :) but hey, good job on starting a company on the right foot. I hope you can back up the hype.
Word of mouth. Plain and simple. Make a product that caters to a market, make a cool looking product(in some eyes) and get some riders to wear it...then the word of mouth marketing, mainly via NS...begins.
because bright clothing is the hot new thing and bright blue is the hot new thing of bright colors and when cosco started repping it in the us open kids were like HAWHAT WHOS MAKING THAT!? one thing lead to another and here we are, i like the look of it. but oh well, kids will be kids!
Yes, but see word of mouth would imply that people have ridden in their attire, enjoyed it, and told folks about it. At this point though, very few have actually used their clothing. My post was in some part sarcastic that NS has slipped down the slippery slope of commercialism and its users that of our materialistic culture. (note: I am not saying I am not completely stoked on snagging new outerwear next season) I just want people to say: "yeah, mine suit held up really well, it is quite warm, but it could be better by doing..."
Much like the Chronics or the Invaders when they first came out, the NS community was so psyched on what they were supposed to do that everyone worked into a frenzy. The original Chronics were amazing, the Invaders not so much. We should wait and see.
this aint no invader.......iwilltellyou that i am still rocking the same suits ive had since january and they are all in perfect condition.....rearry good stuff.....PS_they dont ONLY make bright colors you know
its deffinatly word of mouth but its in a different way. Here on NS people for the most part respect other people if they have a high or higher post count. Those of us that have been her for long enough know better and respect some because we know what they are talking about but the newbies havent learned this yet. SO if they see someone with a high post count saying that Aeryx makes great gear there gona think that because they then think its cool. That is how i think Aeryx got its hype on this site.
obviously when you type in a the exact url without the .com in google you are going to get the website not to mention a word as un orthodox as aeryx.. should be legit though?
Yeah and I think its just like saga, nobody has worn saga outerwear because its brand new, but the fact that it was posted on NS every body agreed to say that theere stuff is sick, even if they havent worn them(personnaly, I am one of these person)Now we saw cosco rock some light blue jacket, we aksed ourself was he was wearing(in my caase, actually, I will not hide it) and again, almost every body here agreed to say it was a sick compagny. Thats how it works on NS.
the only difference is that saga isnt made by predator..... saga isnt backed by by some huge financial industry that wants your money. saga is the real deal, saga is the jibij of outerwear.
True, but people want to be in the know over new stuff, and a lot of the people who don't ride for them and have seen the/tried the gear are on here, and frequent posters(insert WVskierKid) and then the new team riders are here to hype and talk about it(insert Cosco's post above)....It's just a new brand that stands out and people are just talking about it, because they are seemingly stoked on what they see and read.
im not at all saying that whoever runs aeryx isnt commited to the sport, but all aeryx actually is is a huge company that had to change their name to sell to a different fan base of snowsports riders to make some extra cash because the mogul skiing market is dying off.
you couldnt tell the owners of saga apart from any other kid in the park or on the mountain. they are people like us but they took their own money and countless hours (years) of their time to make some dope shit.
and this thread isnt really like a big deal, every company about anything creates a hype, if you dont u are fucked.
thats why u hear like 2 years in advance that xbox360 is coming out and its so much more bad ass than the old xbox. how much hype can be created in 2 years. it comes out and people line up 24 hours before it even comes out to get it from the store, it basically sells out before the store opens.
or saga outerwear or oakley or like other people said line etc etc.
remember armada..... there was some post on here like 1 year in advance about how armada is a fleet of ships from the spanish. and to just wait for the armada. newschoolers were like wow what the hell is armada, and thats how it began.
because ns hypes it up....ns hypes up cosco and colby with aeryx and shit so kids are always liek "i want taht suit" and when they finally can get the suit, they go ahead
again aeryx does not = predatorwear (nor is all predatorwear mogal wear), although predator owns aeryx, and u need to do some reseach because predator is the poorest excuse for a large corperation ive ever heard
well theres this skier, ian cosco, he's the hot shit right now you see. and he happens to be seen in this bright blue get up and everyons like "holy shit ian coscos snow suit is steezin'". then we find out that its not ninthward outerwear he's sportin', but rather this new brand no one's really heard of called aeryx, so yeah thats how it started.
I met the owner of Aeryx at the VTO, we talked and he gave me a free stuff (shirts, stickeers, that kinda thing) he was really cool. Ethan (owner) even let me wear the blue puffy when we were at the hotel. Super comfortable jacket. I began to look into the product more, after I saw Cosco wearing, I KNEW I wanted a suit just like it, it looked AWESOME! But then I got into durability. So I talked to ethan and JIBIJ about the durability, and supposedly, it has AMAZING durability.
My first question is going to have to be, will Aeryx have 20k/20k like the techest predator wear, or will it be "Looks cool, but is shit" outerwear, which seems to be the direction everyone else is going.
